Terms of use

Last updated: DRAFT, not yet in effect

These terms are the agreement between you and Hatchli when you use the Hatchli app and this website. By using Hatchli, you agree to them.

1. Hatchli is self-care, not treatment

Hatchli offers self-reflection exercises, an AI coach and audio you record yourself. It is not therapy, medical advice, diagnosis or a crisis service. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number or see Safety.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms (or have a parent or guardian agree for you).

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete it at any time; see Delete your account.

4. Your content

What you write and record stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run Hatchli for you, as described in our Privacy policy. Please only record your own voice.

5. The AI coach

The coach's replies are generated by AI. They can be wrong, incomplete or not right for you. Use your own judgment, and don't rely on them for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Hatchli: no breaking the law, harassing others, trying to get around safety features or limits, reverse engineering the app, or interfering with our systems.

7. Subscriptions

Some features need a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold through the App Store or Google Play, renew automatically until you cancel, and follow that store's billing and refund rules. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.

8. Our stuff

The Hatchli app, name, dragon, art and music belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for yourself.

9. Changes and availability

We're always improving Hatchli, so features may change. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app first.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Hatchli is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

11. Apple

If you got Hatchli from the App Store, Apple's standard terms for licensed apps also apply, and Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support.
