Hatchli helps you talk kindly to yourself, so what you share is personal. We collect what the app needs to work, we don't sell it, and we don't show ads.
The short version
- Your stories, chats and voice recordings are used to run Hatchli for you. Nothing else.
- We use a few trusted services to run the app (listed below), including Google's AI to power the coach.
- No ads, no selling or renting your data, no data brokers.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from the app at any time.
What we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Account details: your email address, or the name and email Apple or Google share when you sign in with them | To sign you in and keep your dragon safe across devices |
| What you write and say to the coach: chat messages, check-ins, goals, old and new stories | So the coach can reply and help you rewrite your stories |
| Coach memory: short notes the coach keeps about what matters to you | So you don't have to repeat yourself every session |
| Voice recordings of your stories, and the mixes made from them | So you can listen to your new stories in your own voice |
| Progress: your dragon and the sessions you listened to | To grow your dragon and show your progress |
| Usage events: screens opened, buttons tapped, device type, OS and app version | To find bugs and see which parts of the app help. These never include what you write or record. |
| Purchases (when subscriptions launch): whether you have an active plan | To unlock paid features. Apple or Google handle payment; we never see your card. |
If you use dictation, your phone's speech recognition (from Apple or Google) turns your voice into text before it reaches us. Their privacy policies cover that step.

How long we keep it
- Chat messages are deleted automatically after 30 days. The coach's short memory notes, your stories and your recordings stay until you delete them or your account.
- When you delete your account, your account and content are deleted straight away and your files within minutes. See Delete your account.
Your choices and rights
- Delete: remove your account and everything in it from Profile → Delete account.
- Access or correct: email us and we'll send you a copy of your data or fix it.
- Notifications and microphone: turn them on or off in your phone's settings.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, Canada or California), you may have more rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to a data protection authority. Write to us and we'll help.
This website
hatchli.app has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard request logs (like IP address and browser) to run and secure the site.
Children
Hatchli is for people aged 13 and over. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, write to us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your content is limited to your account. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
